Fifth grader is test model for robotic arm in St. Louis

Delanie Gallagher, 10, was born without an arm below the elbow. Upper limb prosthetics for children are generally heavy and lack function. Because of their limitations, only about 20 percent of people with arm amputations end up using a prosthetic, including adults. Delanie was selected to be part of a study funded by St. Louis Children's Hospital, and received a robotic prosthetic to test the usefulness of these prostheses for children.
